Author: Mission Youth

Our missionaries are youth (ages 16-29 years old) and families who desire to be witnesses of Christ and to give themselves generously to the work of the New Evangelization.

The 5 Loves of a Missionary

Five loves spring from the hearts of our missionaries:

1. Love for Christ: The missionary makes an effort to see Christ as the center of his life, his best friend, companion and teacher.
2. Love for Mary: The missionary makes an effort to imitate Mary in all virtues, especially in humility, love, purity, and obedience.
3. Love for the Holy Father and Bishops: The missionary strives to remain faithful to the Doctrine of the Church and the teaching of the Holy Father.
4. Love for the Church: The missionary works for the Church, with the Church, and in the Church. Missionaries love the Church because it is Christ’s Mystical Body and the sign and instrument of salvation for mankind.
5. Love for Souls: The missionary collaborates with Christ in the salvation of souls, knowing the Christ shed His precious blood to save each one of them.

Heart of a Missionary
To be an effective apostle, a missionary’s heart must burn with the same passion as the first apostles.
As a missionary I must strive to...

• Be a person of immense joy. Having received salvation from the Risen Christ, I have every reason for joy. I am passionate about sharing this joy with others.
• Have confidence in Christ. Though I am just one person, I am certain that Christ will use my words and work to show his love to others and to spread seeds of hope.
• Be proud to be Catholic and a herald of Christ. Not afraid to bring Christ’s message of love to all nations.
• Be passionate about the salvation of souls. Everything is worthwhile to save just one soul or change one life for the better!
• Understand my mission from a supernatural perspective. Christ is depending upon me to carry out an awesome mission with eternal consequences for millions of souls. He needs me to be his hands and feet in the world.
• Embrace my personal crosses for the sake of the souls placed in front of me. All the challenges I encounter on the mission have redemptive value. They can help bring others back to Christ!
• Be rooted in a life of prayer. To form an apostle’s heart, I join Mary in pondering the words and actions of Jesus.
